It hasn’t been that long since I got my last tattoo, but this one came on my path very randomly. Find out how and why I got this tattoo.
I’ve been following Mandy Denise, an amazing tattoo artist, for almost a year now. She’s great in doing realistic tattoos, something I really love. She’s been booked for the entire year already so it’s really hard to get a spot and get tattooed by her. Last Tuesday she posted a sketch of a bird with an antler on Facebook with the question who would want to get this tattooed this Thursday.
She had a spot free, I didn’t want to wait for more than a year to get tattooed by her, so I responded quickly. Yay for me!
I went all the way to The Hague yesterday to get this awesome birdy tattooed on me. The first hour went alright and I didn’t have too much pain. The next two hours were agony, I felt like I needed to throw up and I didn’t know how to distract myself anymore. All worth it though, cause I love my tattoo!
Why a bird with an antler?
Well I love birds, I love antlers, I think it looks cute and different!
Mandy did get some negative comments about this tattoo which kinda hurt but we just gotta ignore those comments. I never understood why people would be mean. Is it fun to make others feel bad?
Just as Thumber said “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all”
Taking a photo from above makes the bird look strange so I also got a photo we took right after the tattoo was done made with a cellphone.
